eScience Master ProjectTitle : Butterfly Photos
DescriptioneScience has accumulated a collection of 3D models and photographs from around ANU, for the purpose of creating an accurate VR model for walkthoughs. This project will instead create a more abstract 3D environment in which to experience the spatially organised collection of 2D images. The photos will not be used as texture maps on 3D models. Instead they will be moving particles, or butterflies, or playing cards; organised into swirling clouds, flocks, or vortexes. Navigating from place to place in the abstract 3D world changes the collection of images. If you just stand still, the images within the group change to show different seasons, different times of day, or otherwise progress. The purpose is to stimulate memory and ideas, not simulate reality. More InformationThis project requires programming in Python and the Py3D system used in Computer Graphics tutorials, and all development will be on Unix/Linux systems. 1 |
