Student Projects proposed by Henry
Gardner for Semester 2, 2007
Interfaces
- ESCOPE: This is a java-based cased study used in the teaching of
comp6442. A book has been published about this case study in
2007. This project aims to reproduce the functionality of ESCOPE
using a GUI developed using Eclipse in combination with
jFreeChart. The junit testing capability of Eclipse will be used
to test the non-gui parts of Escope. The Gui will also be linked
to call the R statistical software package for post-processing of
waveform data. This project would suit a student who took comp6442
in 2006 or earlier; but it is not exclusive to such students.
- WEBSCOPE: This project will work with a web-services version of
ESCOPE. The goal is to complete the implementation of Webscope
using the Cooee/Echo2 Ajax bindings to Java. The project would
suit students with prior experience with Escope; but is not
exclusive to such students.
- Graphical User Interface for System Dynamics Decision-support
Models. This project has been proposed by Dr John Weldon of
Corporate Dynamics. The project will develop a user interface
for an expert decision support system using the Eclipse Gui
Builder. This project would suit a student with Java
programming skills and who has already completed the comp6390
"HCI and Usability Engineering" course. If the student has not
already taken this course then he/she must take it during
semester 2 of 2007.
Brain computer interaction
The Mind Attention Interface (MAI) project aims to construct a novel
interface for the Wedge virtual reality theatre. This project aims to
construct a module to run the BCI2000 software package from the
interface provided by the MAI Server engine which is at the core of
the MAI.
