• Provide an easy programming model

  (Any host is able to update any piece of shared state by simply writing to the repository)

Drawback

• Data access and update operations require an unpredictable amount of time to complete

• Require considerable communication overhead due to reliable data delivery.

• Vulnerable to single point failure
